Resumen: This work considers the stabilization of an unstable second order system with a delay, for which an observer scheme is proposed that manages to estimate the internal signal of the system that is not available for measurement. With the estimated signal it is possible to design a controller for the delay-free system. The key point to carry out this estimation strategy is that the estimated signal is equal to the internal signal of the system. In this writing, the conditions that must be met to achieve convergence in the proposed observer scheme are given. In addition, a follow-up and disturbance rejection analysis is done. And finally, the correct functioning of the observer scheme is verified with an example.
