Resumen: During oil well drilling process, vibrations can reduce operating efficiency and damage equipment. This paper presents a model that describes the coupled torsional, axial and lateral dynamics of a drill string. Using a stability approach based on Lyapunov theory, the controller gains that ensure system stability are determinated. Numerical simulations show that the implemented control eliminates torsional and axial oscillations and significantly attenuates lateral vibrations, contribuiting to improved overall drilling system performance.
