Resumen: In this paper, the liquid level of a coupled tank system is regulated by using predictive control, because the process is modeled as a Two Input-Two Output system with input delays. The delays are compensated by using nested predictors, and the gains are tuned based on the Linear Quadratic Regulator approach. A comparative analysis of the proposed control is performed via simulation routines, with a state feedback and a Proportional Integral control. The results show that the state predictors are able to compensate the input delays, avoiding the overshoot.
